I am so sorry for him. Not.

It is known that Australia has some of the tighest border policies in the world. And that they only let vaccinated people in. Its their current law. Their place - their rules, period.

Why Tennis Australia told him he had a special permission, is beyond me. They meanwhile have auspended and deported a few other players as well who were let in on false premisses and data.

But the rules were clear: vaccination mandatory: recovery is not enough. Somebody told Djokovic that he was above the laws applying to everybody else. Thats what happens if you have the wrong people around you.

He was even lucky, he could have ended in jail for making wrong statements on his entry form. In Australia, so I red, doing so on entry is not just a minor infringement, but a criminal offence that is under prison penalty.

He also either lied about his Covid infection he suddenly claimed to have had in Decembre, or was indeed infected but than broke the isolation rules in Serbia, and Spain, putting others mindlessly and egoistically at risk. And that now is really unforgivable.

But then, he is the son of a father who compared him to Jesus. And he spoke a lot of stupid rubbish already before this chapter.

I say he is a smug egomaniac. Its not the first time he has triggered negativ headlines. This time he got what he had asked for. He should have gotten it earlier already. I can fully underdstand the poublic anger of Australians after all they went through. And then somebody gets a free ride because he is good at hitting small balls over a net...? If I were Australian, I would tell him "Good riddance, please never come back."

The Australian authorities did not handle this clever, I admit that, and poltics played into it, too. But in the end they were right and the law is the law. Djokovic has only himself to blame. Maybe the decision on giving special permissions (if these are even a good idea at all) should not be left to a private business party that has clear conflict of interest. Tennis Australia shouldn't have had any word in this from all beginning on.

Djokovic is too full of himself. And maybe he should consider to replace his advisors.
