At the end, in the past 4 minutes or so, he puts in words what I think but never was capable to express adequately in English, that is that so much of the political debates nowadays, may it be Trump, may it be Corona, is being disconnected from the claimed content and turned into a dominance battle. And I recall that several months ago I tried to express the same by saying something like that society, especially the American media environment, has become so extremely obsessed with competing for the mere purpose of just having a competion that can be won, that it intoxicates every conversation, every exchange of argument, every attempt to have a sensible discussion. Its like a conditioned reflex: dog hears a bell, starts slobbering. There is an argument given by somebody: lets oppose it so that there is a fight one can then win. Thje argument doe snot matter, the coutnerargment doe snot matter, the topic of the debvater doe snot matter: the fighting, the comneption is what its about, becasue ther eis a win thancan be secured. Being over competitive, I think it called it back then, not certain whether my words really expressed well in English what I meant. Its not about finding out about a truth, it only is about winning the competition and see the other being defeated by oneself, and the ways to secure that win, because competing and winning is everythign now, allow pretty much everything imaginable, even fraud, lies and yelling.

And so every conversation or discussion degenerates into a mess from the first spoken sentence on.
