Another situation when damage is reset is moving out of rendering distance (some 20-40 kilometers depending on SH game and mod) but from your description this didn't happen here.

Thanks for your reply kapuhy, but I didn't save and exit, I stalked it at less than 2 Km all the time, until it took off like the Flying Dutch...
During that time, of course, I saw through the peri the 4 impacts.
As you can see, in one of the screenshots there is another ship, the Dorsetshire I think, that has 2 impacts on it and eventually went down as expected, but not the Ark Royal...
Anyway, let's se if this situation is recurrent or it was a one-time event only.
