Ship Losses:
Calimeris (Greece) The cargo ship suffered an onboard explosion in her cargo and sank in the Mediterranean Sea. Her crew were rescued by Falka ( Sweden).
Golden Gate (United States) The barque ran aground on a reef 31 nautical miles (57 km) east of Point Manzanillo, Panama.[138] She was refloated on 15 August.
