Ship Losses:
Siam Maru (Japan) The cargo ship came ashore 20 nautical miles (37 km) south of Cape Guardafui, Italian Somaliland. She was abandoned on 3 August and her crew were rescued by
Kashima ( Imperial Japanese Navy).
Siam Maru was later destroyed by fire and was a total loss.
