It is very importand to check the rams first .Look at their specs and see if they work on the same motherboard.See if the older one is SDRAM and if your curent pc supports it.SDRAM were top-notch in their days...
Also,one more thing:Ram is not that responsable for how your game actually runs .It does help,it is true,but not as much as a Video card or Procesor . Rams help you at loading times mainly-and that is good in a game like this with those horrible loading times,but if you want the game to run more smoothly then you should consider getting a GFX card instead.
Turn off the 'Event cam".That has the potential of causing some choppy-ness in the game.Also,you should try pressing shift+pgdown in the game (while you are playing in the u-boat not in the menu or at base)to lower software AA.
