Sure my girlfriend will kill me tomorrow (she´s half italien)
Can say after playing a 1939 war patrol this is workin very well...

Some Patrol impressions (Thread will be moved by moderators soon)
Patroling ~30 km to english east coast somewhere around Norwich...
already sunk a c2 further south(4 torpedos used, refused to go down fast..) further south. Of course he transmitted my position and even befor the last torpedo was fired, i was attacked by 2 hurricane fightes (2 bombs where dropped and missed very close, one hurri used his guns) Sidenote: cause of modding all attacking planes are bombing at the first approach
Back to patrol: proceeding further north-west and the remains of the c2 still in sight (very shallow water)
i encountered a small freighter. Spotted him at long range, ordered scope deep and fired a t1 at him. dud.
fired another, this time torpedo works as espected but also he has no intention to go down fast.
Ordered gun crew to 88 and gave open fire command.
My gun crew at work
Small freighter took some shells and still refused to go to seabelt.
I became to afraid of sitting like a duck at this dangerous location and gave command to fire 2 additional torpedos at the small vessel.
Wanna have a confirmed sinking before leaving the area. Both impacted and the poor ship was cutted in half.
(crew had already left the vessel after sending a warning before firing the 2 torpedos
Now back on course ahead flank...
To the great luck of me and my crew the weather changed...looks like a storm or something is about to be formed...
To get at least a little defence against approaching planes i let my toughest crewmember man the AA mg:

(picture taken from 1WO a few hours after bringing doom to the little freighter.
It´s late evening now and due great luck and help of zeus we hav´nt met any more planes. Guess next british airbase is around 50 km away...
My subcaptain ego is now looking very forward for the night to fall but there´re other guys looking for us too...remember at least one of the engaged ship has reported our position.
My sub was cruising not on half ahead, know we´ve got to get out here as fast as possible, but visibil conditons are becoming worser the nearer the night is. Don´t wann risk a nasty surprise cause my watchcrew´s fail reporting a ship. So half ahead is most we can go atm.
And as espected...
The coastal guard. Spotted at great distance, note to myself: requesting some u-boat bandges for crew...
They have no change to find our little sub by visual in this lighting conditions (ok a complete moron would be detected by coming too close, but not my subcaptains ego, hehe).
But i wanted absolute no risk any more, we where lucky enough today and my crew is tired and hungry. So i gave command to go to 25 meters ordered the cook to make some nice meal for my brave men and me. No more war for us today, we´ve seen enough. All ahead slow, i´m hungry...
The two guard passed peacefully by at 1500 meters (theoretical they could detect us with their poor acoustic equipment, but hans, my experienced sonar man told me we had at least to go ahead 2/3 or faster at those murky acoustic conditions...
This has realy happend on september the third, 1939.
