Welp, once more, no dice, I kept fiddling with this install method for 4 hours. Did it a total of four times on two computers to be sure, and it still crashes. Unfortunately, it was a waste of time. I'm gonna call it a day, and that physical copy offer blackswan42 is looking quite eye-catching. Darn you steam.
