Another interesting comment by the author. Calm sea days were actually bad asdic days due to the sun being able to warm the surface water more resulting in distortion.

p.s. The author participated in the battle where Prien, Schepke, and Kretschmer were lost/captured and his ship itself sank Kretschmer's boat and took him on board.
