Few, by all means not all, tidbits:

- escorts routinely pinged with asdic as part of their asdic sweeps. Not just only *after* a contact was made via hydrophones, etc.
- u-boats could not remain stationary.
- asdic could determine range and bearing but not accurate depth.
- asdic could detect a sub resting on the sea floor.

Same testimony in Iron Coffins by Werner ... adding Brits deployed noise buoys all along Great Britain, simulating ASDIC sounds and depth charges explosion noises to discourage U-Boats from entering zone!
