So care for environment is "socialist" in your opinion? I do not agree. This has all to do with reality and science, and nothing with petty politics not able to see ten years into the future. Canada's carbon tax system is a joke.
The impact those tar sands make alone, cannot be compared with any transport of the crude or refined products, be it rail or pipeline.
Frankly, were it not for jobs connected i would not shed one tear if this tar sand project would be terminated. Any recovery of this area would already now cost around 250
billion dollars. Of course no one will care of recultivation when the money has been made.
The world knows what kind of environmental impact those tar sands have. I know there are a lot of jobs connected, but i guess we all agree this cannot go on in the way it did:

Since Biden intends to move forward and develop other energy techniques it would not make much sense to further destroy huge areas anywhere, besides the US does not really need the oil anymore, and CAPP knows that.
