There never was a finer example of " The Greatest Generation." Chuck's contributions with regards to military and commercial aviation is incalculable. Chuck shot down 13 German aircraft in WW2, 5 in one mission to earn ace status.
Chuck was also the first to fly past the sound barrier in the X1.
