New B.d.U. operational orders to boats in front of the Northern Channel: German boats to transfer toward the east as far as 9°W - will be replaced by Italian boats. All boats west of 15°W, to send daily traffic report.

Skl.and B.d.U. request for reconnaissance patrols, NW of Scotland and the SW-Passage, between 52°30'N / 54°30'N and 12°W / 18°W, is confirmed by the Air Groups North and West.

Standing at Point "Lore". - RST -

1640 - Diving for trial dive to A+20.

RST: Reach point "Luci" on approach path "Herz" without escort.

1750 - Surfaced after 3.2sm (1h 10')

2112 - Outgoing F.T.: To B.d.U.:

U 103 (Schütze) sights an incoming convoy in Qu.4475AM; U 137 (Wohlfahrt) sights an outgoing convoy in Qu.5159AM and incoming and outgoing traffic in front of the Northern Channel, in direction 250°.

0948 - SOS-Message from weather boat WBS4 Hinrich Freese: Being attacked by brit. Cruiser Najad and Trawlers Elm and Westorie. Position Jan Mayen.

1200 - Qu.5297BF - Days Run: 188.7sm - 185.5sm (22h 50') - 3.2sm (1h 10')

2110 - Outgoing F.T.: To B.d.U.:
During approach toward point "Luci", rescued 6 survivors of 2 French fishing vessels in heavy storm south of Ile de Croix. One other fishing vessel and the light ship have sunk as well but no survivors found. ETA point "Luci", 2200h. - RST -

2126 - Incoming F.T.: From B.d.U.:
RST: Transmission failure. Please repeat last radio message.

2133 - Sending F.T.2110/16 again to B.d.U.

2207 - Point "Luci". Sea conditions improving: ENE4/3, overcast, hazy, visibility 3sm, ~1000mb.
Taking on escort (R-Boat).

Landing at Lorient under protection of Flak-Cruiser. Several damaged ships in Lorient roads, as well as, in outer and inner harbour basin.
