On September 1, 1939, FdU ordered us to attack the small convoy consisting of the two tankers and the two transports, we sank them with ease. We then made our way down to the Western Apporchases and sank 3 ships there, we were running low on fuel and we were nearly out of torpedoes so we decided to head back home. On our way back we encountered one last ship which we sunk with our last torpedo. We sent a status report to FdU and they ordered us back to base. We sank our last two merchants at the end of our patrol by using our deck gun.

The crew seems to be a little more saltier now, they aren't as nervous and green as they were before!
The sailors at the night club are all cheery and drunk as they spew on about how victory will surely be ours.

I awarded 6 sailors medals, 2 Iron Cross Second Classes and 4 U-boat War Badges, and I promoted 4 sailors.

We await new orders from the FdU

Signed,
Erich Hante
