How does the Plane fit????
From what I've seen from the design drawings the on deck plane storage?? the bulbous space in front of the conning tower?? This is the same length as the plane's fuselage and not much wider...
So how does it fit??
Visited the shipyards & museums in Japan where they have great models (but no real documentation) and the explanation I got was "They MAKE the plane fit by disassembling the plane until its small enough and SHOVING it in"
By which I assume they mean that to fit the Yokosuka E14Y scout plane?? in the approximately 8m long by 2m high cylinder, the tail section (rudder and horizontal stabiliser), as well as the propeller, are completely removed to allow the 8.6m long fuselage to fit???
Then some magic is performed on the wings to make them also fit... being almost 1.7m wide and 5.5m long and the central part of the cylinder being occupied by the fuselage???
Whatever space is leftover is filled by the floats and struts???
What are the dimensions of the hangar?
Do you have any photos of it?
Is the Plane a Yokosuka E14Y scout plane?
Do you have its dimensions?
And photos of it in the hangar?
Thanks
