nice narrative.
you should be wary of getting weary.
grammar jokes aside, yes, i have broached at inappropriate times. after several thousand missions, ill-advised broaching is probably one of the few ways that my boat takes damage. that and walking away from my PC during a mission. (dumb ass

)
situations that cause broaching, in no particular order:
- coming shallow at speed higher than 5 or 6 knots.
- turning at high speed.
- diving at high speed.
- movement at high speed in high seas.
so, as you can see, all of these broaching situation happen at high speed. (duh)
it is not clear whether or not one can modify the hydrodynamic parameters within the submarine.sim file to correct these boat-handling gaffes but the one thing that can correct them is to maintain a reasonable speed when close to the surface.
good luck!
