Well, this scene .. pretty dumb not to lower the 'scope for minutes? The sonar man would have not be able to hear the sub, or find it via sonar - not at PD, not at that distance. But the periscope.. m'..ok.
CGI does not look bad though, seems pretty well done.
Not shown here, but: A boat fighting it out at the surface, or taunting allied ships via radio comm, unlikely, and not only because of cross bearings.
The taunting is in Forrester's book, though it is only mentioned that german radio operators would interfere in allied communications with english swear words. I guess the propganda was still showing..
