Had a home made scenario in the persian gulf. Had a number of small craft in the area. Could not even hear a fishing boat at 2km.
No contact on Broadband or narrowband sonars. Unless I stuck a mast above the surface and used ESM and periscope, would have never known it was there...
Had sand and surface duct in enviormental cond.
