By the way Skybird - finish rescuing Martin before you hit level 8. Otherwise you have to be a one man army and won't be able to rescue Martin till you are like level 25!
You don't have to do anything else but bring him to the temple, then you can forget about the main quest until you feel like having a go at it later on.
Plus, when Martin asks you to get him Azuras Star - don't! Give him some other useless Daedric artifact that will work fine for him. Azuras Star is one of the best devices you can get in the game and you will need it!
