Serious, from Die Welt:

Quote:
Rumors have been circulating for days that North Korea's dictator Kim Jong-un is dead. In fact, some things make you think. This includes not only that he was missing for the first time in the annual festivities for the founder of the state, but also that he belonged to the Corona risk group.

Is North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un still alive or did he die on Wednesday? And what happens if he were dead? Pyongyang remains silent. It always does so on such questions. Only the following is secured.

First. Kim performed for the last time at a Politburo meeting on April 11. At the meeting of his bogus parliament two days later, he was absent. Likewise on April 15th at the annual ceremony of the founder of the state, Kim Il-sung, in his mausoleum. It was the first time that Kim missed this appointment.

Secondly. Last Monday, CNN reported that Kim was at utmost risk of dying. Donald Trump did not say that this was "fake news". He said cautiously that the message was "probably" wrong. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Friday that America is "closely monitoring" the situation.

For the first time in more than six years, the aunt of the North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un has appeared in public again. The state media showed pictures on which the 73-year-old can be seen during a concert visit in Pyongyang.

Third. On Tuesday, China's internet said Beijing had sent a team of doctors. On Thursday, NKNews, a specialist in North Korea, found the news in a Chinese doctor chat that the doctors were eight minutes late. Kim is dead.

That was also said by a journalist whose uncle was China's foreign minister from 2003 to 2007. Beijing did not immediately censor the reports, contrary to its practice.

Fourth. Kim has brought relatives in key positions since New Year's Eve. His sister came to the Politburo.

An uncle who has returned from Vienna, says the South Korean MP and former North Korean envoy in London Thae Yong-ho, can become head of the transition state. South Korea's government meanwhile says Kim is recovering.

Does he have Corona? Kim does not wear a mask, although he is at risk with being overweight and smoking. A mask would have undermined the propaganda that demigod Kim was invincible.

If the virus defeats him, a clique of officials could stabilize the regime, like after Stalin's and Mao's death. Or it breaks down like the GDR. Or Kim shows up again - and all the excitement was in vein.
