The included optional mod,
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects does not cause save-game game crashes.
It could be that you need to apply the large address aware (4GB) patch to your SH3.exe file if you have not done so.
.... or the Enhanced Damage Effects mod / your installation has been changed in some way which causes the crashes in question.
Either way, some other mod or issue remains as the causative agent.
