Someone at BDU doesn't like me.
OK, I was slow on the uptake here, but I'm not in this thing for status - I just enjoy blowing things to kingdom come.

I've just noticed that, after 27 successful missions, where all my Officers & NCO's are maxed out on promotions & gongs (even the ship's cat has the Iron Cross*) I have NEVER been promoted & I have fewer medals than the cook.

I'm pretty sure the Admiral hasn't found out about that time with his daughter, the 3 bottles of schnapps & the goat, but even if he did he's a nice guy & he knows we all need to let off some steam between patrols.

* This is only second class - and she's forever bitching about that - says it's blatant discrimination 'cos she's the only female aboard.
I've told her how hard it was to get even that out of the Kriegsmarine when she's not officially a crewmember, but she shows NO gratitude - just keeps bringing up that time with the T2 - I've said time & time again that we would have picked it up sooner or later & we'd all catch hell if BDU ever found out someone let the cat stand watch on the hydrophones (who's idea WAS that anyway?).

The bottom line here is that I get no promotion, no medals & no respect from the livestock on this damned boat - if it wasn't for the torpedoes & the deck gun I'd be out of here the first neutral territory I come to (where is the coast of Switzerland anyway?).
