Been awhile since I tried it, but I remember he would report the weather every time doing a celestial fix. as it depends on the weather, obviously, can't be doing celestial fixes when you're in the soup.
also, it takes 30 mins for a celestial fix by default IIRC?
You could always learn to use the sextant yourself.
