I asked him if he was serious and he said he was. He didn't seem to understand why I was questioning the idea at all. I had the unfortunate task of explaining to him that his money was gone forever and that he would never see one cent in return. I felt really bad for the guy. He's a good man and I couldn't believe that he fell for it. We were fairly young and that was probably the majority of his savings at the time.  |
