The Classic Version in the Remastered Bundle I believe uses the same engine and thus the answer would be no. If you still have the bundle however I'd say it can't hurt to give it a try if the Classic versions in the bundle work or not...I've read mixed messages from people said the Classic did work but after a Update of the game it no longer did.

If you're refering to the
original 1999 release then there are work arounds found online to get it working Windows 7. So if you have the CD still you could give it a shot.
Out of curiosity might I ask what video card your Laptop has?
