Careers.cfg. Last career entry. The settings are 'Finished' and 'WarOver'. Both should be false.
BUT, generally where this problem has occurred both these values have been false, so it may not be the fix required in this instance.
FYI this was first raised in March last year (

Like the "unrecorded tonnage and start dates" bug, it seems linked to SH3's "Save and Exit" functionality, which is prolly why there are so many "avoid Save and Exit" posts on this forum!
