lol. yes, we've seen that before and no, it will not affect the enemy detecting you.
i have encountered the same thing but i cannot find the post where it was explained.
i have also experienced flame-spouts near an attack-area...they just sit there burning. i thought they were following me but it was just de-hydration from a long patrol.


seriously, there is nothing you can do about and it wont hurt you. so, enjoy and ignore.
