I just wanted to say thanks to Bl!tzkr!eg for these instructions:

By following steps 5-12 on the 3rd post in that thread, I was able to successfully install SH3 from my old DVD and get it running on Windows 10 64-bit, yesterday. (I already had the 1.4b patch file lying around.)

It really brought back the memories firing up the game after being away ~10 years.
