Yes I can mix as well, I use Wavelab, Getting suitable stuff can be a problem, It's a pity SH3 wont accept Stereo, only with some of the ogg files, but these can be tricky to edit, sometimes they work fine & othertimes CTD, I have made some stereo speech files that have been edited to match the first officers lips when given the orders but still having the Das Boot theme.
If you listen yourself to the original 'Torpedo tube opening.wav' sound it's almost 'not there', to get them higher ofcource brings out background sounds as well, & since a lot are edited from movie sounds it's hard to get clean sounds, often they contain a mix of music, breathing etc and hard to get out!
We do what we can, but I am working on something that may be a vast improvement, if it works I will post my find!
