I used to work for a company that made Nylon, usually in big blocks (anywhere from 150 lbs to 1 ton each) or molded shapes, afterwards they would get machined down to their final shape and size. We made things like Roller coaster wheels, Bushings for the really big wind mills, food grade prep surfaces for kitchens or factories (conveyor belts), and rocket fuel. We made the engine for SpaceShip2, the one that crashed. There's a lot of uses for this material.

I know this is just a pilot project, but that's really slow. REALLY slow. Unless they can come up with a way to speed that up, it won't be economical nor sustainable.
