I spoke with one of the managers at a sporting goods store a couple years ago. He told me that Colt no longer offers the 1911 style .45 except to law enforcement and government entities. I was wondering if you knew if this was true.

I somehow doubt this as the vacuum created could be readily filled by Kimber, Ruger, Sig Sauer and Springfield Armory just to name a few. Colt Industries had a bankruptcy restructuring plan approved in January of 2016.


Conversion kits to change from .45 to .22 are also available for a lot of these 1911 style weapons.
