I think you are right. But how was it in surface vessels? Once I heard that surface ships change their time depending the zone but submarines don't. I can understand this in the modern world where the sub is allways submerged, but because the sub during the WWII were more surface than subsurface vessels, it would be logic they followed the time zone. So, what's the point to keep the german time if you are on the American coast?
