CapnScurvy’s Optical Targeting Correction
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181172 “is a comprehensive correction to the optical game world. “ Please see the original thread if you are not familiar with the mod.
He created a version was for RFB 1.4 and with his gracious permission, I have made it compatible with RFB 2.0. Included is his original documentation for OTC RFB 1.4. It contains some great information on not only what his mod does, but as well as indispensable tutorials.
I have tested it with the museum and had no crashes. Well that is not entirely true. Stock RFB crashes at the S-42 submarine, but it won’t affect gameplay.
I have tested it on random patrols, but haven’t sat down and played a full 4-year campaign yet, so some random bugs may appear that I haven’t had a chance to encounter yet. If so please let me know and I will address them the best of my ability. My goal was to make a stable, workable version of OTC/RFB, a template if you will. RFB doesn’t get a lot of love compared to TMO and I’m hoping that with this release more people will mod RFB. Together, with enough mods from other people, we’ll have an unofficial RFB 2.5!
RFB has a unique system of displaying, or rather not displaying, contacts. Please use TMO Plot
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4192 by Rockin Robbins if you want the standard TMO contact system.
I prefer something like Show Air Contacts v1.1
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=2789 or 3000 Yard Bearing Tool plus Air Contacts
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=2986 by razark. As I was saying to CapnScurvy, OTC is such a beautiful piece of work, but with map contacts on, you don't need to make accurate measurements. You just look at the dots on the map. To fully appreciate OTC in all of its glory and really give the omnimeter and stadimeter a work-out, you need to play with map contacts off. razark’s mods keep sonar/radar lines and aircraft, but remove ships from the map.
I also recommend Rockin Robbins TMO Keys
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...do=file&id=173 so you don’t have to remember two sets of keyboard commands (plus it has the crew identifying ships for you which RFB does not have).
Included is the TGT DIALS TO PK FIX mod by Nicolas and ddrgn
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=152945 built into OTC RFB 2.0 because I always thought it was cool.
Please note, this is only for the
STOCK campaign.
NO RUN SILENT RUN DEEP! If the stock campaign gives you the heebie jeebies, I recommend the Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod
http://www.subsowespac.org/silent-hunter-4-mods.shtml for a more historical campaign flavoring.
This mod is for 16 to 9 or 16 to 10 Aspect Ratio only! It happens to be the most common these days so hopefully it will reach the most users. If you have no clue as to what I am talking about, please see the original OTC thread

The mod order should be:
RFB_2.0
RFB_Patch_23April2010
OTC RFB 2.0
