Well, to be honest I'm not sure.
RA1.44 does several things to change the graphics that I've noticed:
-Text is larger and easier to read.
(Note that I run the direct download version of DW from Strategy First, your install may be different). I already borrowed the new fonts and back-fit them to RA1.43.
-The 3D view is now "brighter" (especially underwater) and the compass at the top of the 3D view has changed. This is a small thing, I admit, but it just throws me off when I'm in the 3D view. To me, the new graphics changes aren't better or worse, they're just different.
It shouldn't make a difference, I know, but this is the first time I've seen such a big change since the game released in 2005.
Its nothing I couldn't get used to, I'm just happy to stick with 1.43 for now.
