Disable the mod and see if the stock game will load.
With windows 10 and SH5 you should not need to run in any compatibility mode.
Check that your gpu is setup for Silent Hunter games.

Do not install your game in the Program Files (x86) directory as it has restrictions in it which can affect your game.
Unistall your game through the Control Panels Program and features.
Follow these instructions.

On the dvd select the custom installation setup as this will allow you to setup on any drive and in your own game folder.
If you are going to use The Wolves Of Steel mega mod The Wolves Of Steel Mega Mod (TWOS) By vdr1981 > Highly Recommended For All SH5 Players then you also select German language as well.
Use a path like C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5

Disable display scaling on high DPI settings

This should not be a problem with SH5.
