I just registered on these forums to post that I've noticed this very consistently too.

Certain missions in the game would get a lot easier if the bug were fixed, but it would be cool if the AI did more random active pings or baffle clearing maneuvers to compensate.

Game is awesome otherwise! Having a lot of fun with it.
