An interesting fact about
For What It's Worth is there is no actual band drummer playing on the track; the percussion was provided by one of the owners, who was also an audio engineer, of the historic Gold Star Recording Studio in Hollywood (RIP), responding to Buffalo Springfield's dissatisfaction over the sound of the track (originally recorded at another competing studio); from the Gold Star official web page:

Although recorded at a rival studio, Stan Ross was called upon to salvage what later became one of the most important songs of the 1960s - "For What It’s Worth" by Buffalo Springfield - when the band was unable to come up with a satisfactory performance . Stan approved the final mix and, after two failed singles, Buffalo Springfield finally had a career;
