Dear automatic flushing toilette: please get removed from my UN Plaza guardpost ASAP!

"Nobody goes to the bathroom," "They've turned that toilet into a shooting gallery, a house of prostitution and a homeless crash pad. And that's during the daytime. The nights are worse."since their arrival in 1996, the faux-Parisian pissoirs installed by advertising company JCDecaux have earned a reputation as havens for drug use and prostitution. (The freestanding restrooms lock on the inside, making them an attractive target for people looking for privacy.) They've served as a malfunctioning reminder of the city's failure to stanch public defecation than as a solution.

They're gone now but were a holy terror to go into or be near after dark....<the park to the right in front of City Hall (next to my Plaza's own pissoir) is the still 'needle capitol' of the city. 25 of the French import pissoirs were set up; U couldn't pay me enough to do that brave maintenance man's job!^
