I prefer Radeon cards for Silent Hunter games. For years with Nvidia cards, sun glare has failed to show up properly in SH3 and SH4. Instead, the sun is just a circle in the sky. I never once had this problem with Radeon. Aside from that, however, no major problems with either manufacturer.
Right now I have GTX 660Ti's in SLI; they work very well, even though they are old. Aside from the sun glare issue.
