I always preferred to use the West Coast's right channel as it is less hazardous and much less well defended with only a couple of mines on the surface.
Anything less than a medium fog the coastal defenses will pick you off.
I would wait outside the entrance and start at around 20.30 at decks awash.
Once clear of the coastal defences then it was ok to surface and use the darkness as cover.
It would take me around 11 hours to complete this mission.

BTF as a miision has always been debatable because of the lack of AI from the defenders when you would expect all hell to break loose just does not happen.
It is good experience though and a hefty bit of tonnage is always good for morale.

Your picture size needs to come down to 1280 x 1024.
I am using Postimage and screen shots do not need to be re-sized for Subsim.
