I read about SH3 in August's PC Gamer. I was on the plane back from BC. It was Andy Mahood's sim column. I remember thinking "Right - there's a whole legion of hardcore sub nerds". Memories drifted back of ads for games like 668(i) and names like Silent Service floated into my mind. Andy was twisted about SH3, and I decided to give it a try.
I've been wickedly captivated by SH3, not to mention all things naval, since August. And it's been tested - BF2, as always, lurks on my harddrive, and I immersed myself in Oblivion, only to be drawn back to the salty business of hunting merchant ships. This game has changed me, as a gamer. It's a one-way ticket, baby.

P.S. I'm off to Chicago to climb onto U505 in three weeks.
