PapaSmurf, I have not yet 'got to it' as we had workmen in yesterday, changing the boiler, and though I spent most of the time hidden away in the computer room, I could not concentrate on the LSH problem, except to say that I did NOT do what the guidance instructs us to do, which is to switch off the AV. My AV is so in the background, being Webroot, that I forgot it was there, but it did flag up what I assume was a false positive on the LSH install, so I am hoping that was my problem. I shall try again sans AV when I feel up to it. I did have it running just fine on the old games machine - much the same specs as this one, running W7 64bit with lots of memory, and a decent graphics card, so I do not think there should be a problem - we just need to 'read the flippin manual'!
