Right now the entire Winds of War series is on You-tube.

I'm guessing that it may be pulled at some point due to copyright issues but in the mean time, it's a great WWII series. And it's a chance for those of you that haven't seen it to do so.

The main conceit of the 1980's series is that one family is somehow involved in most of the major turning points of WWII. Though it's justified a bit by having Captain Henry "get noticed" by FDR and then involving him in many of the events, it's of course unlikely but if you can get past that it can be great viewing.

The one sequence where Victor Henry is in command of a squadron of U.S. Escorts convoying one of the first Lend Lease shipments across the Atlantic is egregiously inaccurate to folks in the know about U-boat operations but but it's a minor part of the whole story.

One son even goes into the submarine service and there are a number of sequences in War and Rememberance (the follow up series) but don't expect accuracy to be much higher.
