I do not know why you would be looking at these sort of additions this early on without getting a real feel for the game and its environment.
There are over 100 mods working away so unless you know what you are doing disaster will strike.
This is my mod list 100% reliable.

DeckKannon < Adds new deck gun sound with shell casings
one ship, one torpedo v1.00 < does what it says
Redline202 - Real Buoy Bell Sounds < prefer this original to amended TWOS one
Reduced Ships Fires and Explosions_Incr. Flooding via Zones_for TWoS 1.06 < Approved TWOS mod addition
TWOS Binoculars with bearing by Torpedo v1 < replaces the 1 eyed version
TWOS restore captain's icon by Torpedo < does what it says
Unscratched Optics with Graduation marks for Large Optics for TDW UI < does what it says
Church's SHV 1.01 Keyboard Commands v1.1 < changes the stock/TWOS keyboard commands WASD and many others
Campaign Advance Verifier Testing_For TWoS 1.06 < Approved TWOS mod addition before moving campaigns.

As regards additional mods let me know what you are contemplating and I or others will advise you accordingly.
