Laptop keyboards
Most laptops use the "F" keys as dual function. Sometimes in Bios there is a setting for the "F" keys to either behave primarily as Standard F key assignments or as function key assignments, the default being function key assignments.
There should also exist on the laptop keyboard in the last row (Or first row, depending how you look at it ) bottom left hand corner, a key labeled fN. This is the function key. If you use this with the F3 key (fN+F3) you should go to the periscope view. the fN key plus and other "F" key should get you where you are going.
A couple of options. Use setkey (As in the SH3Front end) to create custom keyboard assignments.
Get a USB keyboard and use that instead of the laptop keyboard.
Go Deluxe and get a gaming keyboard - most of these have extra keys and allow you to create custom key assignments.
The mouse software - does it have a profile manager? My logitech mouse has setpoint software that will allow me to set the mouse button assignments and some of them are keystroke assignments - also a game mode setting.
Who made your mouse?
