When i was in S. Korea i met a few Americans and one told me that he was ashamed that he was speaking only 1 Language and where ever he goes on the World he will be greated in His language. So what's the situation in the US ?
Here in Switzerland the kids learn a second or third language as soo as the elementary shool (6 - 11 Y old) and in the US where they do have so many hispanic Ppl. what are they learning in shool ?
I was working for 7 1/2 Year around the World, sure i speak only a few (6) languages but whenever i was able to talk to the people in their own language half of the work was already done. Sure my English is far from being perfect but it enables me atleast to patrticipate in this forum, like others who talk German do participate in the German Ubi forum.
