You'll get plenty of experience with installing mods if you do SH5 - you basically cannot play the game without mods. My main problem with that version of the game, besides it not having fleet boats, is manuvering about the boat, especially the ladders. But it sure is pretty... You definitely want to pay attention to modders' instructions on installing their mods, especially prerequisites...
