Today we managed to play a mission by Cpt. Kyte called "Hunt fo Rabbit".
Me on Los Angeles had a task to sink a small group of ships: LSTs and a tanker. They were escorted by Udaloy, Heli and aeroplane.
I received a messsage that they left a port on a south island. I was wondering what will be the course of enemy task force. I set a course and speed up. I assumed that they would go somehow between St. Anna and Rebun Island
This time I was not so lucky. I was detected soon. I tried to evade torpedoes. I do not know how many of them were launched at me, but I coounted at least 8 reports "Torpedo in the Water"
Couple minutes later, I was hit by one of the fish. So I blown a ballast and went surface. The crew was ready to abandon the ship. I prepared the missile launcher and had a hope to attack the last time. And it worked
. The plane was coming. I did not waste time and pull a trigger. EGIPOP was shot down.
My crew was exciting but 2 minutes later I was hit by Kyte's Silex. And my ship was sunk.
Nice and interesting battle. At the end I looked at "Show True" and it appeared that I predicted the enemy course properly. However due to lack of caution, I was detected and destroyed by the escort force.
