Obama certainly encouraged too many of the too wrong guys in the ME too much, and mistook adapting a weak own stand for encouring the opponent to communicate, and pissed quite some of his former allies: real one and pretended ones as well. No, Obama has not understood this at all. Not one bit. The importance of reason as a factor forming history, often gets dramatically overestimated. So did Obama. And not just in overseas affairs, but at home as well.
