Sorry for the delay, my schedule has been a bit crazy lately...

All I can suggest is that you keep trying... I've seen similar responses from a server before when there are several people logged in at the same time.

It is quite possible that there were several others logged in (and possibly downloading) at the same time you tried. And the maximum number of connections had been reached.

In that situation it would not allow you to connect.

I'll keep my eyes open for any other download locations I can find.
If I run across any I'll post a link in this thread.

I noticed this also. Best I could do is short "sprints" to the coast, or into the English Channel. Kept the game short enough to be played in one attempt.

However, I thought it was because I was running SH3 through Linux.
I can ONLY saved submerged, not surfaced. Although I NEVER had any of the bugs/glitches with uncontrolled diving, etc.
I can literally save in a harbor with multiple DDs looking for me, and the game will load fine every time. (The docked ships sometimes move a bit, occasionally getting "stuck" in the dock.)
As long as I saved submerged.

However, if it isn't loading at all, it may have something to do with the fact that ALL the main guns on all the warships only have a M01 node in the .dat file.
For example, the Type 34 Destroyer has 5 main turrets, on the AI controlled ships, these are numbered M01, M02, M03, M04, & M05. But on the playable Type 34, they are all numbered M01.
Probably confuses the game on load and leads to the crash.
